Get Takk Krónur back

In the online stores, you need to link your Takk account to your user account on Hagkaup.is and Eldumrett.is using electronic ID:
1.) Download the Takk app and sign in to your Takk account.

2.) Click the Takk icon in the top right corner of the website and select “Link Takk account.”

3.) Authenticate using your electronic ID to complete the linking.

Note that this only needs to be done once. After that, you will automatically earn Takk krónur on future purchases whenever you are logged in to the website and purchase Takk products.

You can use your Takk krónur at both self-service and staffed checkouts in Bónus and Hagkaup stores.
Takk krónur cannot be used in the Hagkaup or Eldum Rétt online stores.

Self-service checkouts: At Bónus and Hagkaup stores, clear instructions are shown on the checkout screens. The steps are as follows:

1.) Tap the Takk icon on the checkout screen (“Innskrá”) and sign in to Takk.

2.) Select “Greiða með Takk krónum” in the payment menu and tap “Greiða.”

3.) Hold your phone against the payment terminal to confirm the use of your Takk krónur.

Staffed checkout:

1.) The cashier activates Takk on the payment terminal.

2.) Hold your phone against the terminal to sign in using your Takk card.

3.) Let the cashier know that you would like to use Takk krónur.

4.) Hold your phone against the payment terminal again to confirm the use of your Takk krónur.

Please note:

-When you choose to pay with Takk krónur, the full available balance of Takk krónur is used first. If your balance is not sufficient, the remaining amount is paid using a payment card or another payment method.
Example: An item costs ISK 1,000. A Takk member has 500 in Takk krónur → remaining ISK 500 is paid by card.

-If a purchase is paid partly with Takk krónur and partly with a payment card, Takk points are only earned on the amount paid by card.

It may take a few minutes for Takk krónur and receipts to appear in the app after an in-store purchase. For online purchases, the Takk krónur and the receipt will appear once you have received the delivered items.

Anyone with Icelandic electronic ID can become a member of Takk.

When you log in to the Takk app, you are offered to add the Takk card in the wallet of your phone.

You can also go to "My Takk" in the app and under settings click "activate pass".

The Takk card is only electronic and is used for authentication in stores when earning and using Takk krónur.

Authenticated Takk members can earn Takk krónur in all Bónus and Hagkaup stores as well as Eldum rétt.

In the Takk app you can view an overview of your Takk krónur balance, as well as your accumulated amount of Takk krónur since you joined the program. You can also see receipts and Takk krónur earnings per store under "My Takk" in the app.

If you purchase products that earn Takk krónur in the Eldum rétt or Hagkaup online stores, the Takk krónur will appear in your Takk app after the products have been delivered.

In the Takk app, you can easily see which products earn Takk krónur. In stores, Takk products are marked on electronic shelf labels with red marks, where you can see exactly how many Takk krónur you will earn.

Yes, however if Takk krónur are used as a part of the payment and a payment card is used for the rest, Takk krónur are only earned on the amount paid by card. Takk krónur are not collected if paid with a credit note.
Example: If your total purchase contains 200 tkr to be earned, and you pay half of the total amount with a payment card, you will earn 100 tkr of that purchase.

New Takk products are added to the app every week. Most deals are valid for 1-2 weeks. The validity period is shown on the products in the app.

You must have an Icelandic electronic ID to be able to authenticate yourself and use the app.

Takk krónur expire two years after you earn them.

The same return policy applies to Takk products as any other products.
